Architects of Change

So I just finished putting my little ones down, and I am ready to begin the night’s work. Tonight I am organizing all the collateral material I will be taking to the Long Beach Convention Center for the California Women’s Conference.

A few months ago I received an exciting email approving my book for sale at the conference book store.  The book store carries all the autobiographies and how-tos written by the VIPS and celebrities who have been invited to the conference. Names like Madeleine Albright, Katie Couric and Dr. Oz are among the impressive list of speakers. Imagine my surprise and joy when I heard the news that my book would be sold along side so many accomplished authors.

In an effort to capitalize on my good fortune, I decided I should have a booth and sell my seminars to the many women who will walk the halls of the convention.  I believe the thousands of women who flock to this yearly event are there for a reason.  They come to this conference not only to hear from the great achievers and experts; not only for the fellowship of other female sojourners; but also because they are looking for something bigger than the life they are currently leading. They want to be inspired–to feel called to something bigger than themselves. They want their life to count.

As far as I know, this is the single largest gathering of women under one roof, and I am excited to be there to once again (I went last year) be inspired by the many women who are changing the face of this world and living their dreams in the process. The motto of the conference is “We empower women to be architects of change”.  What a charge, are we up for it?
